This page sets out the rules we hold ourselves to. Our business model is explained in our Disclosure, and our research method in How We Review.
Independence
- Advertisers, affiliate partners, and manufacturers have no influence over what we cover, what we conclude, or what we score. Commission rates are never a factor in rankings or verdicts.
- We do not accept free products, paid placements, or sponsored reviews. If that ever changes for a specific piece of content, it will be labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.
- No manufacturer previews, edits, or approves our content before publication.
Sourcing standards
- Every factual claim that isn’t common knowledge traces to a source we name: an owner-review platform, a document, a regulator, or a published study.
- Health, safety, and efficacy claims are held to the highest bar: they must cite independent, published evidence – linked by name and year – or be clearly attributed as a manufacturer claim we could not verify. We do not use the words “proven” or “clinically shown” without a linked source.
- Data we collect (owner-review patterns, prices, ratings, version numbers) is date-stamped so you know when it was true.
Health and safety content
Content about health-related products — respiratory devices, supplements, safety devices – describes published evidence and owner experiences. It is not medical advice, and it is prominently labelled as such. We tell readers when a product category requires a clinician’s input, we include red-flag symptoms that mean “see a doctor, not a product page,” and we say plainly when the evidence does not support a product’s claims for a given condition.
Authorship
Bylines on this site belong to real, identifiable people. Author pages state who the person is and link to at least one externally verifiable profile. Where content is produced by our editorial team collectively rather than an individual, it is bylined “Ossaward Editorial” and accountability sits with the editor named below.
How we produce our content
We use software tools — including AI-assisted research and drafting tools — in producing our content. Every article is directed, fact-checked, and edited by a human before publication, and the accountability for its accuracy is human: it sits with the byline and, ultimately, with the editor. Tools don’t decide verdicts; evidence does.
Corrections
We correct errors quickly and visibly.
- Report an error via our contact page or directly to Mark Staffin, Editor (sikhavashisht@gmail.com). Include the page link and what you believe is wrong.
- We review every report. Verified factual errors are fixed promptly.
- Significant corrections (anything that changes a verdict, score, price, or safety-relevant fact) are noted on the page itself with the date of the correction.
- If a whole review is found to be unsalvageable, we retract it and say why at its URL.
Updates and retirement of content
Reviews carry both a publication date and a “last verified” date, which are not the same thing – we only change the latter when we have actually re-checked the facts. Products that are discontinued, or content that no longer meets this policy, is removed or rewritten rather than left to mislead.
